If Members use direct or group messaging features, we may process message content, metadata, sender and recipient information, timestamps, attachments, and related moderation or safety information.

Messages should not be considered fully private or confidential. Bike Shed may access, review, preserve, or disclose messages where necessary for safety, moderation, legal compliance, support, security, or enforcement of our Terms.

The Platform may collect location information where enabled by the Member or required for specific features.

This may include:

  1. Approximate location;
  2. Device-provided location;
  3. Location selected in profile settings;
  4. Location associated with Events, Rides, Groups, or Marketplace listings;
  5. Location inferred from IP address; and
  6. Location permissions granted through the mobile operating system.

Location information may be used to support local Groups, nearby Events, Ride discovery, Marketplace relevance, personalization, safety, analytics, and Platform functionality.

Members can usually control device-level location permissions through their device settings. Some Platform features may not function properly without location access.

2.6 Payment Information

Payments may be processed by third-party payment providers.

Bike Shed may receive limited payment-related information, such as transaction status, billing currency, subscription status, payment method type, last four digits of a payment card, billing country, invoice details, and refund status.

Bike Shed does not intend to store full payment card numbers where payments are processed by third-party payment providers.

We may collect information related to communications sent through email, push notifications, SMS, in-app messages, and other channels, including:

Members should not submit information they do not wish to be visible to others.

We may share information with companies that provide services on our behalf, including hosting, payment processing, analytics, communications, customer support, security, moderation, app functionality, mapping, marketing, and data storage.

5.3 Event, Ride, Marketplace & Community Partners

Where necessary to operate Events, Rides, Marketplace features, partner benefits, or community experiences, we may share limited information with relevant partners or service providers.

5.4 Legal, Safety & Enforcement Purposes

We may send service-related communications, such as Account notices, Membership updates, payment notices, security alerts, policy updates, Event or Ride information, and Platform announcements.

7.2 Marketing Communications

We may send marketing communications where permitted by law. Members may opt out of marketing emails by using the unsubscribe link or changing communication preferences.

7.3 Push Notifications

The Platform may send push notifications if enabled by the Member. Push notifications can usually be controlled through device settings or app settings.

7.4 SMS Communications

Bike Shed may send SMS messages where the Member has provided a phone number and where SMS communications are permitted by law. Members may opt out of SMS communications using the instructions provided in the message or through available account settings.

Bike Shed is based in the United Kingdom, but Members may access the Platform globally, and our service providers may process information in countries outside the United Kingdom or European Economic Area.

Member Content may remain visible or retained after Account deletion where it has been shared with others, copied, cached, archived, incorporated into editorial or promotional materials, or retained for legitimate business, legal, safety, or operational reasons.

No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. Members are responsible for protecting their Account credentials and devices.

Bike Shed does not intend to sell personal information in the traditional sense. If applicable law defines certain analytics, advertising, or tracking activities as a “sale,” “sharing,” or targeted advertising, Members may have rights to opt out of such activities.

14. Children

Bike Shed Moto Club is not intended for individuals under sixteen (16) years of age.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from individuals under sixteen (16). If we learn that an individual under sixteen has created an Account or provided personal information, we may delete the information and terminate the Account.

15. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time.

Where changes are material or required by law, we will provide notice through the Platform, by email, or by other reasonable means.

Continued use of the Platform after an updated Privacy Policy becomes effective constitutes acknowledgment of the updated policy.
