Child Safety Standards

Child Safety Standards

Last updated: 24 April 2026

Bike Shed Moto Co. (“we”, “us”, “our”) operates the BSMC Member app and the BSMC members website at bikeshedmotoclub.com (together, the “Service”). This page sets out our standards for preventing child sexual abuse and exploitation (“CSAE”) on the Service and explains how to report any concerns to us.

1. Our commitment

We have zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation. We do not allow any content, conduct, or communication on the Service that sexualises, endangers, or otherwise harms children. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) in any form
  • Grooming, solicitation, or enticement of a child
  • Sexualised depictions or descriptions of minors
  • Content that facilitates the trafficking or exploitation of children
  • Sharing of personal information about a child that could put them at risk

2. Who the Service is for

The BSMC Member app and members website are strictly for adults. Membership is only available to individuals aged 18 or over. By signing up, members confirm they meet this age requirement. Any account identified as belonging to someone under 18 will be terminated and their data removed in line with our Privacy Policy.

3. How we prevent CSAE on the Service

We take the following measures to prevent CSAE content and conduct:

  • Age restriction: Membership is limited to adults aged 18 and over. Members confirm at signup that they meet this age requirement, and accounts found to belong to anyone under 18 are terminated.
  • Member screening: All members must hold a paid BSMC membership, which is tied to a name, email, and payment method.
  • Community guidelines: Our terms of service prohibit any content or conduct that endangers, sexualises, or exploits children, with immediate account termination for violations.
  • In-app reporting: Every post, comment, message, profile, and piece of user-generated content can be flagged by any member using the in-app reporting tools.
  • Human review: Reports are reviewed by our moderation team and acted on promptly.
  • Automated detection: We use industry standard tools to help detect known CSAM where feasible.
  • Swift removal: Any confirmed CSAE content is removed immediately and the responsible account is permanently banned.

4. How to report CSAE content or conduct

If you see anything on the Service that you believe involves the sexual abuse or exploitation of a child, please report it immediately.

In the app or on the website: Use the report button (the three-dot menu or flag icon) on any post, comment, message, or profile. Select the appropriate reason and submit.

By email: admin@bikeshedmoto.com

Please include as much detail as possible, including a link to the content, the username involved, and the nature of the concern. Reports can be made anonymously.

We aim to acknowledge CSAE reports within 24 hours and to take action (including removal of content and suspension of the responsible account) as quickly as possible.

5. Reporting to authorities

Where we identify or receive a report of apparent CSAM or a credible threat to a child, we will:

  • Preserve the relevant content and account data in line with legal requirements
  • Report the matter to the appropriate authorities, including the UK’s Internet Watch Foundation (IWF), the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) in the United States, and law enforcement where required
  • Cooperate fully with any investigation

6. Legal compliance

We comply with the laws of the jurisdictions in which we operate, including:

  • The UK Online Safety Act 2023
  • The UK Protection of Children Act 1978
  • Applicable EU and US laws relating to CSAE

7. Ongoing review

We review these standards and our internal procedures regularly and update them as our Service evolves and as guidance from regulators, platforms, and child safety organisations changes.
